Aqaba International Exhibition Center to Host SOFEX 2024

Jordan — Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC) is pleased to announce its
role as the host sponsor for the highly anticipated SOFEX 2024 exhibition,
which will take place at the newly established Aqaba International Exhibition
Center (AIEC). Located just west of King Hussein International Airport, the
AIEC state-of-the-art facility marks a significant milestone in Aqaba's growth
as a premier destination for major events.
The completion
of the Aqaba International Exhibition Center, spearheaded by ADC, represents a
commitment to the highest standards of quality and excellence. Hussein Safadi,
CEO of ADC, expressed his pride in hosting SOFEX 2024 as the center’s inaugural
event, highlighting its distinguished status on both regional and international
levels. "The Aqaba International Exhibition Center is poised to make a
substantial impact, driving a major leap forward in Aqaba's events and
exhibition tourism industry, and significantly contributing to the broader
economic landscape of the Kingdom," said Safadi. He further noted that the
center's operations would create valuable job opportunities, particularly
within the Aqaba Special Economic Zone.
Safadi
emphasized that the Aqaba International Exhibition Center marks a
transformative milestone in Aqaba's tourism trajectory. "In partnership
with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), ADC will continue to
attract world-class events and exhibitions, stimulating economic growth and
reinforcing Jordan's position as a key regional hub for business and
tourism," he added.
At SOFEX 2024,
ADC will participate through a dedicated booth featuring an array of investment
opportunities within Aqaba. The event will also serve as the platform for the
unveiling of ADC's new brand identity, reflecting the corporation’s ambitious
vision to cement its status as a leading investment entity in the Middle East.
ADC, during the
exhibition, will showcase several key projects that are under construction and
development by ADC, including the Aqaba International Circuit, which is set to
elevate the Kingdom's profile on the global motorsport stage, the Heritage
Aircraft Museum, offering visitors a unique glimpse into a collection of
historical military and civilian aircraft, and the "Aqaba Agri-Food Tech
Corridor" project, aimed at promoting sustainability, generating
employment, and enhancing Jordan’s food security.
Looking ahead,
Safadi announced: “The Aqaba International Exhibition Center, in collaboration
with ASEZA and the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB), will host the prestigious
Destination Wedding Planners (DWP) Congress in October 2025. This event will
bring together the world’s most influential wedding planners and industry
leaders”, He elaborated that this will further positioning Aqaba as a premier
global destination for high-profile events and will contribute to growing the
MICE industry in Aqaba.
